Forum rules Respect Copyrights: Anyone have any Sabicas I am looking for sheet music mostly, and maybe mp3’s. If anyone can help, that would be greatly appreciated. I have wabicas some of his music and didn’t realize they were the same person. I’m especially looking for Danza Arabe I think that’s the name I have his Arabian Fantasy, fzntasia I can’t do the 4 note tremolo’s I can do the three note pattern like Recuerdos, but he uses an unusual 4 stroke pattern for the song.
You can probably purchase the sheet music on-line. I guess they’d know what is available and what isn’t.
I searched for Sabicas on you tube as a result and I was totally blown away. People who claim he was the best guitarist ever haven’t got it far wrong! Just search for Sabicas Flamenco Puro I think I saw copies at his booth at GFA this last summer.
Another guy you might like from the same era is Mario Escudero also transcribed by Trotter. Published by the same as above.

And I just thought of another one that was a little earlier, Pepe Sabixas. On the surface his stuff seems a little “simple” but once you get into it he makes agabe of very interesting chords and rhythms, some of which weren’t found until Paco de Lucia and his generation.
I think Ivor Mairants transcribed his stuff and it was published by Mills Music back in the day. I don’t know if anyone is doing it now but it’s well worth combing old music and book stores trying to find it.

It’s an aural art which was not trditionally written down and largely continues aarabe way today. Here is a site which has some Sabicas tabs http: You may have to make your own transcription like a true Flamenco from the video or look at “Fantasia Arabe” as a basis to work it out.
